Job Title: Registered Dietitian
Location: New Horizon Care Centers, Spokane, WA (Isabella House & Sun Ray Court)
Employment Type: Part-Time, 4 hrs. a week, maximum of 20 hrs./month
Pay: $40/hr.

Position Summary
New Horizon Care Centers is seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Dietitian to join our team in an inpatient residential rehabilitation facility. The Dietitian will be responsible for assessing nutritional needs, developing personalized meal plans, and providing education to support the recovery and overall health of residents undergoing rehabilitation for substance use disorders, mental health conditions, or physical health challenges.
Key Responsibilities
· Develop and implement individualized nutrition care plans in collaboration with physicians, therapists, and nursing staff.
· Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of dietary interventions and make necessary adjustments.
· Provide one-on-one counseling and group education sessions on nutrition, healthy eating habits, and dietary behavior change.
· Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure therapeutic diets are implemented properly and consistently.
· Perform regular kitchen inspections to ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and regulatory standards; provide feedback and corrective action plans as needed.
· Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with clinical and regulatory standards.
· Participate in case conferences, treatment planning meetings, and interdisciplinary team discussions.
· Stay current on developments in clinical nutrition and rehabilitation best practices.
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in relevant field (Dietetics, Nutrition, or related)
· Completion of an accredited dietetic internship.
· Current registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR).
· State licensure or certification as required (if applicable).
· Having 5 years of experience in a clinical or residential rehabilitation setting preferred.
· Strong understanding of nutrition's role in addiction recovery, mental health, and chronic disease management.
· Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
· Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
Preferred Experience
· Experience with special diets related to diabetes, cardiovascular disease, gastrointestinal disorders, and eating disorders.
· Familiarity with trauma-informed care and holistic treatment approaches.
· Knowledge of electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
· Primarily a clinical indoor setting within a residential rehabilitation facility.
· May require prolonged periods of standing or walking.
· Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
· Regular interaction with residents in various stages of recovery.
