What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Worker - Isabella House position at New Horizon Care Centers, Inc.?
Position: Full Time, Monday – Friday, Hourly
Place of Work: 2308 W 3rd Ave, Spokane, WA 99201
Objective: Responsible for general repair and building maintenance; coordinating vendor to site repairs; ordering maintenance supplies and the efficient operation of Isabella House building in accordance with the Agency’s policies and mission statement.
Qualifications/Skills: High School Diploma/GED required and two (2) years of progressive on-the-job repair and/or maintenance required. Prior work experience in treatment industry is beneficial. Must be able to pass a drug test.
Needs strong interpersonal communication, empathic, organizational and multitasking abilities. Must be detail oriented and maintain strict ethical and professional boundaries, willingness to work in a change-based environment, use independent critical thinking and be self-directed with little supervision needed. Possess the ability to manage several projects simultaneously and have a basic knowledge of repair and maintenance. General knowledge of using basic tools. Performing preventative maintenance and troubleshooting skills.
Special Requirements: Requires physical activity such as lifting 100lbs daily, stair climbing, bending, bending to lift and walking. Maintain valid driver’s license and be insurable on Agency insurance.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain confidentiality per CFR part 2, HIPAA, ethical conduct and professional boundaries.
- Maintain an understanding of program policies and procedures.
- General maintenance and repair work including but not limited to: plumbing, electrical, general construction, drywall, painting; moving furniture and office items.
- General janitorial work including but not limited to: clean staff restrooms, mop, vacuum staff areas, general clean up.
- Review log and walk thru building daily to best coordinate work orders for needed repairs.
- Coordinate inspections and build professional relationships with inspectors from fire, smoke detector and extinguisher, boiler, elevator, DOH, etc.
- Coordinate mandatory fire drills and organize fire drills for other shifts.
- Coordinate repair/maintenance vendors for large projects.
- Coordinate vehicle maintenance needs with Finance Department.
- Order, acquire and keep inventory of maintenance and general supplies.
- Meet with Administrator and Maintenance Manager once weekly to go over schedule, update on work orders and have work requests signed off.
- Attend supervisor’s meeting and other required meetings and trainings.
- Maintain a working knowledge of and abide by all traffic laws.
- Other duties as assigned by Administrator
