Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and compassionate Activities Director to lead engaging recreational programs and activities tailored to enhance the quality of life for residents in a senior care environment. Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a comprehensive activity program that aligns with residents’ interests, abilities, and care needs, including memory care and dementia-specific activities.
- Plan and facilitate engaging events such as arts and crafts, music therapy, outings, games, and special celebrations to promote socialization and cognitive stimulation.
- Collaborate closely with nursing staff, caregivers, families, and external vendors to ensure activities support individual care plans and promote overall wellness.
- Manage scheduling of activities to ensure consistent participation while accommodating residents’ routines and preferences.
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) as needed during activities to promote independence and comfort.
- Monitor residents’ responses to activities, adjusting programs accordingly to maximize engagement and safety.
- Maintain detailed records of participation, resident preferences, and activity outcomes to inform ongoing program development.
Requirements
- Proven experience in event planning within assisted living or long-term care settings; nursing home experience is highly desirable.
- Strong background in senior care, including Alzheimer's care, memory care, dementia care, and working with individuals with disabilities.
- Knowledge of recreational therapy techniques that support cognitive health and emotional well-being.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively engage residents, families, staff, and community partners.
- Ability to coordinate schedules efficiently while managing multiple programs simultaneously.
- Compassionate caregiving attitude with a focus on aging issues counseling and social work principles.
- Experience assisting residents with ADLs such as mobility, dressing, or personal hygiene during activities.

Pay: $15.00 - $15.50 per hour
