This is a part-time, on-site role based in Newton, KS. The Shift Staff will oversee the shelter during assigned shifts, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of residents and maintaining a secure and clean environment. Responsibilities include monitoring daily shelter activities, assisting with resident needs, enforcing house rules, and maintaining accurate shift documentation. The Shift Staff will also support program objectives by fostering a positive and respectful environment for all residents.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including active listening and conflict resolution abilities
- Basic administrative and documentation skills, with attention to detail and record-keeping
- Capacity to enforce policies and maintain a safe and respectful environment for all individuals
- Ability to work independently, make sound decisions under pressure, and maintain professional conduct
- Experience working with diverse populations or in a social services setting is a plus

- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional training or certification in social services is a plus
