Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Rehabilitation Specialist to join our mental health and wellness team. The Rehabilitation Specialist will be responsible for developing and implementing individualized treatment plans, providing counseling, and utilizing specialized techniques such as art therapy and gender issues counseling to meet diverse client needs.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to determine clients' rehabilitation needs and goals
- Develop personalized treatment plans incorporating evidence-based practices and creative therapies such as art therapy
- Provide individual and group counseling sessions focused on mental health, gender issues, and psychopharmacology education
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including medical professionals, social workers, and family members to coordinate care
- Monitor client progress regularly and adjust treatment strategies accordingly
- Educate clients on medication management, coping skills, and behavioral strategies
- Maintain detailed documentation of treatment activities, progress notes, and client records in compliance with confidentiality standards
- Advocate for clients’ needs within the community and connect them with additional resources as necessary
Skills
- Strong knowledge of art therapy techniques and their application in mental health treatment
- Familiarity with psychopharmacology principles relevant to mental health care
- Experience or training in gender issues counseling to effectively support diverse populations
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build trust with clients from varied backgrounds
- Ability to develop empathetic relationships while maintaining professional boundaries
