Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and customer-focused Client Service Advocate to join our team. The ideal candidate will be self motivated and possess skills to work directly with clients in crisis situations.
Position hours will be 2pm-8am throughout the week and every other weekend.
Weekly hours: 25-30
Position Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dependable Client Advocate to support individuals and families experiencing crisis. This role requires the ability to remain calm under pressure while providing trauma-informed care and maintaining a safe shelter environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support individuals and families navigating high-stress crisis situations
- Develop positive, professional relationships with clients through consistent communication and supportive service delivery
- Act as the main contact for shelter residents and hotline callers, addressing concerns, providing guidance, and prioritizing safety
- Respond to and provide crisis intervention through a 24-hour hotline
- Conduct shelter intake assessments and assist with admissions
- Offer community resources and referrals based on client needs
- Uphold and enforce shelter policies to maintain a secure and structured environment
- Perform light physical duties including lifting, bending, stair climbing, and routine household cleaning
Qualifications
- Experience working with survivors of Domestic Violence and/or Sexual Assault preferred
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently
- Basic computer proficiency
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Professional, client-centered approach with a heart for service
