Job Description
New Hope’s Education Department has an immediate opening for a Special Education Certified Teacher. This position provides an appropriate education for children enrolled in our on-site, accredited school.
Full Time – 40 hours per week
Schedule: Monday – Friday
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Providing a quality and differentiated education experience for every student
- Demonstrating subject matter knowledge and enthusiasm for teaching students
- with a variety of disabilities
- Providing a safe and therapeutic classroom environment
- Data collection including grades, assessments, and student portfolios
- Collaborating with legal guardians, multi-disciplinary team members, and
- other stakeholders
- Designing and implementing student learning plans including IEPs and 504s
- Completing required paperwork and meeting deadlines
- Participating in professional development and required trainings to maintain
- S.C. teacher licensure
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education or related area
- Current state teaching certification in Special Education
- Professional verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, online gradebooks and learning management systems
