Job Description:
We are seeking a Finance Manager to lead and oversee all financial operations within the church. In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Managing the church’s financial planning, budgeting, and reporting
- Overseeing the preparation of financial statements, tax filings, and audits
- Monitoring cash flow, managing accounts payable and receivable, and ensuring financial stability
- Developing and implementing financial policies to maintain compliance with nonprofit regulations
- Working closely with church leadership to plan for growth and sustainability
- Managing and mentoring accounting staff, if applicable, to ensure efficient operations
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have:
- A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 4 years of experience in finance or accounting, preferably in a nonprofit or religious organization
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, nonprofit accounting practices, and tax regulations
- Experience with financial software (e.g., QuickBooks, Ramp, Paychex Fund EZ, or similar platforms)
- Previous experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting
Skills:
- Strong leadership and team management abilities
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information with integrity
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Compensation:
- Salary Range: $60,000 – $80,000 per year (commensurate with experience)
- Benefits: Health insurance, retirement plan, paid time off, and other benefits
