Heritage Harbor is a premier marina resort community located along the Illinois River, designed around lifestyle, connection, and experience. Buyers are not just purchasing a home - they are investing in a destination and a lifestyle centered around waterfront living, recreation, and community.

This role offers a unique and exciting opportunity to step beyond traditional real estate or production builder sales. What You’ll Do

  • Create excitement and demand by bringing the Heritage Harbor lifestyle, marina, and destination experience to life
  • Deliver immersive, high-impact tours that connect emotionally with buyers and build desire for ownership
  • Personalize each experience by aligning the lifestyle, home options, and community to the buyer’s goals
  • Own your pipeline and proactively move prospects toward decisions, ensuring opportunities do not stall
  • Identify hesitation, create urgency, and confidently guide buyers to take action
  • Ask for the sale and drive deals forward through consistent follow-through and accountability
  • Manage contracts, negotiations, and closings with professionalism and precision
  • Maintain ongoing communication throughout longer sales cycles, including repeat visits and extended engagement
  • Participate in open houses, events, and community activations to generate and convert traffic
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, construction, and operations to deliver a seamless experience

Qualifications

  • Proven success in a consultative, client-facing sales or service role
  • Prior real estate experience is helpful but not required
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence, guide, and confidently close
  • Competitive, results-oriented mindset with a strong internal drive to win and exceed goals
  • Energized by performance, income potential, and ownership of results
  • Ability to create urgency, navigate high-stakes conversations, and guide buyers toward decisions
  • Comfortable asking direct questions, addressing hesitation, and driving outcomes
  • Self-motivated with the ability to operate independently with discipline, accountability, and urgency
  • Organized with strong follow-up habits and consistent pipeline management
  • Persistent and engaged through longer, relationship-based sales cycles
  • Comfortable working with mid- to high-income clientele
  • Thrive in a client-facing environment and prefer being in motion rather than behind a desk

This role is best suited for individuals who are driven to produce results and close opportunities. Candidates who prefer transactional sales, passive follow-up, or purely relationship-focused roles without a strong closing mindset may not find this role to be the right fit.

Work Schedule & Additional Requirements

  • This is a full-time, onsite role based at Heritage Harbor in Ottawa, IL. The schedule includes five days per week, with weekends serving as primary sales days due to customer traffic, events, and tours.
  • Ability to conduct extended tours, often lasting 1 to 2 or more hours, frequently outdoors and on foot
  • Willingness to obtain and maintain an Illinois real estate license within 12 months, with company support

Compensation & Benefits

  • $30,000 base salary plus uncapped commission
  • Typical earnings: $115,000 to $145,000 or more annually based on performance
  • Full-time W2 role with medical, dental, vision, and 401(k)
  • Paid time off
