Job Description:
Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Estimator to join our team. The Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate and material take-offs and estimates for post-frame building projects. This role requires a thorough understanding of construction materials, methods, and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare detailed material lists for post-frame and other buildings.
- Collaborate with contractors, project managers, and customers to understand project requirements and provide accurate pricing.
- Research and source materials, obtaining quotes from suppliers and subcontractors.
- Prepare and submit estimates to customers.
- Review and update estimates based on project changes and revisions.
- Communicate effectively with customers and teammates to clarify project details and resolve any discrepancies.
- Participate in project meetings and site visits as needed to ensure a thorough understanding of project scope and requirements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or a related field or a minimum of 3 years of experience in construction estimating, preferably with a focus on post-frame buildings.
- Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and industry standards.
- Proficiency in estimating software and tools.
- Excellent analytical and mathematical skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Experience in wood frame construction, pole barns, or similar experience is a plus but we will gladly train the right person.
