What are the responsibilities and job description for the House Manager position at New Haven Assisted Living?
- Safety: Ensure that all staff are doing the following:
· Document residents whereabouts every hour or according to assessment
· Trained in and following special diets and safe food handling standards
· Proper de-escalation according to the licensing rule.
· Safety according to the assessment in the home and the community
· All medical visits and appointments, doctors' orders, are kept up and followed up on promptly
· Communicate repairs or conditions of the facility to maintenance in a timely manner.
- Medications: All staff must be properly trained and monitored in medication ordering, administering, and documentation. This includes but is not limited to:
· Properly charting ECP
· Proper training on the rights of medication
· Regular training, oversight and retraining of all facets of medications.
- Communications: Proper communications in the home includes:
· All daily charting and communication logs being kept up and signed off
· Any incidents or accidents that need to be reported such as falls, seizures or incontinence.
· Reporting behaviors such as outburst of anger, obsessing over another resident or staff, and injury minor or severe
· Activities, in the home or community, transportation, and progress goals of the residents daily living.
· Maintaining staff files and resident files
· Developing good relationships with family, guardians, caseworkers and all visitors who enter our home. Residents and all visitors are customers we serve.
Hiring, scheduling and Training: The manager will interview candidates, hire, train and keep proper documentation for employees initially and ongoing. The manager must be the driver of the positive culture of the home making it clear what the objectives are and how to achieve them. Managing employees includes writing a good schedule and and giving corrective counsel as necessary.
Cooking and cleaning: Oversight and execution of the menu and cleaning schedule is crucial to the home's success. These responsibilities will be shared by both day and night shifts and overseen and taught by the manager of the home.
Budgets: The manager is responsible for making sure the home stays within the given budgets. We will have a budget for all activities of the home
Coverage of shifts: The manager is responsible for making sure the house is covered by capable staff. As a last resort the manager must be prepared to cover shifts his or herself when necessary.
Pay: From $21.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
