GENERAL SUMMARY
Assists with the management of court security services to ensure an environment of safety and protection for employees, visitors and property.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The intent of this job description is to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities performed by incumbents of this job. Employees may be requested to perform job-related tasks other than those specifically presented in this description.
- Provides leadership, instruction and correction of subordinates, including but not limited to training, scheduling, submitting payroll, and evaluating performance.
- Assigns court security officers for state locations.
- Coordinates and performs facility security audits; reports any potential breaches to Court Security Manager.
- Ensures Emergency Evacuation Plans for all court location are updated annually.
- Provides administrative and supervisory support to all court security officers.
- Develops and implements duress alarm protocols and testing schedule for all court locations; coordinates with other court security officers to carry out system testing.
- Oversees and maintains inventory replacement plan.
- Works with security equipment vendors to coordinate regular inspections.
- Provides input to the Court Security Manager on long and short term departmental goals and objectives.
- Assists the Court Security Training Officer with training court security officers on new systems, services, processes, policies, protocols, and procedures.
- Assists the Court Security Manager with the following tasks:
- Administering facility and ground security activities for the Judicial Branch.
- Performing research, evaluation and analysis of operational and electronic systems.
- Hiring and training of court security officers.
- Processing complaints, disputes, and union grievances.
- Serving as liaison between Administrative Office of the Courts and other courts, agencies, and organizations.
- Serves as the Court Security Manager in their absence.
- Performs related work as required.

MINIMUM ENTRANCE QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience
- A high school diploma (or GED equivalent).
- At least three (3) to five (5) years of related work experience in security.
- Any equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities.
