Job Title: Director of Health Information and Analytics

Reports to: Executive Vice President

Classification: FLSA Status - Full-time/Exempt/Salaried

Job Summary: Serve as primary staff member responsible for health care data and information to support the mission and objectives of the New Hampshire Hospital Association, the Foundation for Healthy Communities, hospital membership and partners.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary contact to member hospital representatives (including CFOs, Controllers and Human Resource Directors) for a variety of national, state and local data reporting requests, including the AHA Annual Survey, DATABANK, NHHA Reporting Suite, Human Resources Surveys and other special projects for NHHA and FHC as assigned.
  • Act as Project Manager for the Uniform Health Facility Discharge Data System (UHFDDS) contract. Duties include serving as the liaison between State offices, contractors and all NH acute and specialty hospitals. Convene and lead regular stakeholder meetings, prepare meeting agenda and produce minutes. Navigate project obstacles, forecast potential barriers and remain focused on timeline and deliverables. Submit invoices in accordance with contract terms and prepare internal requisitions. Regularly apprise NHHA Contract Manager and senior leadership of project progress.
  • Support both NHHA and FHC staff with a wide variety of data collection, information gathering and reporting needs.
  • Create and maintain databases and spreadsheets to analyze data collected by NHHA and FHC or data available through secondary sources.
  • Produce a variety of internal and external reports utilizing tools such as Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, Tableau, or other visualization tools.
  • Assist staff in maintaining organizational technology and data needs such as the outlook contacts, listservs, project management software and websites.
  • Oversee information technology management for the organization. Act as primary contact with third-party IT company, oversee projects, budgets, inventory, and work to ensure staff have necessary equipment and receive needed IT training and communication.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Experience and comfort level with survey tools, such as SurveyMonkey, and survey development techniques preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Access required. Proficiency with visualization tools such as Tableau preferred.
  • Proficiency with programming language such as Python, R, or SQL preferred.
  • Superior quantitative and computer skills.
  • A thorough awareness of health care current events/news and hospitals.
  • Work requires broad knowledge and/or experience in maintaining and querying databases.
  • Ability to work both independently and with others.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with an ability to present complex data in a simple, understandable way.
  • Excellent organizational skills and an aptitude for detailed problem solving.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; ideally in health management and policy, computer science, finance, statistics or similar degree.
  • Minimum three to five years’ experience in health care financial analysis, health care operations analysis or health policy.
  • A strong understanding of and preferably experienced in health care and hospitals or with a membership/trade/advocacy organization.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to drive a motor vehicle for occasional travel.
  • Occasional support of office environment could include lifting up to 20 pounds, ascending/descending ladders and moving equipment.

Travel Requirements:

  • Travel may include in-state and out-of-state locations with occasional overnights, frequency of which may vary depending on job requirements.

Location: This position is office based in Concord, NH with hybrid work arrangement options.

Hiring Salary Range: $75,000-$85,000.
