This position receives Hazardous Duty Pay, which is paid biweekly at $60 (not included in salary above).

Summary
Supervises and performs technical maintenance, repair, installation, and calibration of HVAC, boiler and generator equipment for all southern region NH Department of Corrections (NH DOC) facilities while working in close and immediate contact with prisoners on a daily basis, having responsibility for security.
- YOUR EXPERIENCE COUNTS:** Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience and/or each additional year of approved work experience may be substituted for one year of required formal education.
- Education/Experience:** Equivalent combination of 5 years of education and experience after completion of high school. Education and experience must be in the operation and maintenance of the mechanical and electrical equipment used in buildings, with at least 2 years of supervisory experience.
- Valid drivers license or have access to transportation for statewide travel.
- Must have a State of NH Gas Fitters license.
- Must pass security and background screenings required for correctional environments.
- Trainee Option:** Candidates with an equivalent combination of 4 years of relevant education and experience after completion of high school may be considered and hired in trainee status for this position.
- PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:** None
- Successful completion of the Corrections Academy within 12 months of hire and continuing certification as correctional line personnel as established by the certifying authority.
- Successful completion of HVAC refrigerant certification within 12 months of hire.
- Must be available for on-call through rotating schedule for off hours coverage to respond to emergencies and requests for timely assistance, in accordance with departmental policy.
- Must be willing to work an extended and/or flexible schedule, to include nights and weekends for emergency response to needs at the facilities. May be required to report for work with little notice due to emergencies.
