Purchasing Unit Manager

JOB SUMMARY: Position will manage all aspects of Purchasing to efficiently and cost-effectively support organizational operations.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Negotiating, analytical and problem solving skills.
- Develop and maintain strategic relationships with key suppliers and vendors.
- Manage risk relating to quality, cost, delivery and supply of purchases.
- Direct continuous improvement of purchasing processes in line with changing needs and market conditions.
- Develop and manage purchasing budgets and forecasts.
- Monitor supplier and vendor compliance with contractual agreements.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Strong computer skills.
- Knowledge with Automated Manufacturing Systems (MRP - ERP).
- Self-motivated with strong sense of urgency and commitment to meeting deadlines.
- International Supply Chain Management experience.
- Experience in VMI.
- Seven years progressive management and supervisory experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Bachelor's degree required in business, materials management, operations management or related field. APICS-Purchasing Certification a plus.
