Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate, patient, and dependable caregiver to join our Memory Care team on evening shift (6am-2pm). This position focuses on providing individualized care and support to residents living with dementia and other memory-related conditions. The ideal candidate is calm under pressure, attentive to resident needs, and passionate about creating a safe, structured, and comforting environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility
- Provide redirection, reassurance, and emotional support to residents experiencing confusion or behaviors related to dementia
- Assist with meals, hydration, and evening routines
- Encourage resident engagement and social interaction
- Maintain a safe and secure environment within the Memory Care community
- Complete documentation and communicate changes or concerns to nursing and management staff
- Assist with housekeeping and laundry tasks as needed
- Respond appropriately to emergencies and resident needs
Qualifications
- Prior experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or home & community care environments preferred
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to provide compassionate support to residents and their families
- Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations
- Reliable attendance and teamwork essential
- Must pass background check
Certification in first aid and CPR required; additional certifications such as medication administration or Hoyer lift training are a plus
