About the Role
The Safety Associate helps maintain a safe, secure, and supportive environment throughout New Freedom facilities. This frontline role combines facility monitoring, access control, routine patrols, incident response, member support, and emergency preparedness while promoting professionalism, accountability, and exceptional service.
This role is ideal for someone who:

What You’ll Be Responsible For
- Conducting facility patrols and monitoring buildings, grounds, and common areas
- Monitoring visitor, employee, contractor, delivery, and facility access
- Monitoring CCTV and other safety resources for potential concerns
- Responding to incidents, emergencies, behavioral concerns, and requests for assistance
- Completing accurate incident, patrol, safety, and operational documentation
- Supporting member intake, discharge, passes, escorts, and accountability activities
- Assisting with emergency preparedness, life-safety, and other assigned safety initiatives

- Facility patrols and monitoring activities are completed consistently and thoroughly
- Safety concerns are identified, addressed, and escalated appropriately
- Incidents and operational activities are documented accurately and timely
- Member interactions balance accountability with dignity, professionalism, and respect
- Emergency and safety procedures are followed calmly and consistently

What We’re Looking For
- High school diploma or GED
- Strong communication, organization, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to remain composed and professional in stressful or rapidly changing situations
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with others
- Strong judgment, reliability, confidentiality, and attention to detail
- Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic documentation systems
- Ability to obtain and maintain a valid Arizona Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card within 20 days of hire
- Experience in safety, security, corrections, emergency response, military, law enforcement, healthcare security, or a related environment preferred
- Experience in behavioral health, residential treatment, recovery, or healthcare preferred
- Experience with surveillance systems, incident reporting, or crisis response preferred
- Peer and Recovery Support Specialist (PRSS) Certification preferred
- Firsthand lived experience relevant to New Freedom’s member population preferred

Environment Physical Demands
This position works primarily in behavioral health, residential treatment, office, and facility environments with regular interaction with members, employees, visitors, contractors, and emergency-response personnel. The role involves routine facility patrols and may require response to behavioral incidents, emergencies, and other safety concerns.

- Regular sitting, standing, walking, and movement throughout facilities and grounds
- Frequent facility patrols and monitoring of operational areas

- Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, or moving materials weighing up to 50 pounds
- Ability to respond promptly and appropriately to incidents and safety-related situations
