We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Counselor--Supervisor to lead our clinical team in delivering comprehensive addiction and behavioral health services. Duties

• Provide direct counseling services utilizing evidence-based practices such as motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), behavioral therapy, applied behavior analysis (ABA), and psychotherapy to support clients’ recovery goals.
• Lead clinical supervision of counseling staff, ensuring adherence to best practices, HIPAA regulations, and documentation standards.
• Conduct comprehensive intake assessments, diagnostic evaluations, and patient assessments to develop individualized treatment plans.
• Manage crisis intervention scenarios effectively, providing immediate support and coordinating appropriate follow-up care.
• Oversee group therapy sessions, child & family counseling, and specialized programs for pediatrics, PTSD care, and neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism.
• Maintain accurate medical records using electronic health records (EHR) systems while ensuring compliance with HIPAA and other privacy regulations.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including social workers, medical professionals, educators in special education settings, and families to coordinate holistic care.
• Supervise clinical team members in case management activities, documentation of medical terminology, CPT coding for billing purposes, and data collection for research initiatives.
• Facilitate staff training on topics such as social work practices, crisis management techniques, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), medical documentation standards, and working with diverse cultural backgrounds.
• Ensure quality assurance through regular review of clinical documentation and participation in clinical research efforts related to behavioral health.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree or Master’s degree in social work, psychology, counseling or related field; licensure or certification as required by state law for clinical supervision.
• Extensive experience working with individuals with substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions.
• Proven supervisory experience leading clinical teams within behavioral health or addiction treatment settings.
• Strong knowledge of motivational interviewing techniques, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), applied behavior analysis (ABA), crisis management, and crisis intervention strategies.
• Experience working with children, adolescents, individuals with developmental disabilities or neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism is highly preferred.
• Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR/EHR) systems including EMR management; proficient in medical documentation and medical terminology.
• Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds while demonstrating sensitivity to individual needs.
• Excellent client communication skills along with the ability to work collaboratively with families and multidisciplinary teams.
• Knowledge of ICD coding systems (ICD-9/10), CPT coding for billing purposes, HIPAA compliance standards, and clinical research methodologies is advantageous.

Pay: $40.00 - $45.00 per hour
