Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and professionally, providing exceptional customer service at all times
- Manage multi-line phone systems with excellent phone etiquette, scheduling appointments and answering inquiries promptly
- Verify insurance coverage and perform insurance eligibility checks using systems like Epic, Meditech, Dentrix, Eaglesoft, and Athenahealth
- Conduct insurance verification processes and handle billing tasks including medical collection procedures and medical billing documentation review
- Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations for health information management
- Schedule patient appointments efficiently using Dentrix
- Assist with intake procedures, patient check-in/out processes, and updating medical history in dental and medical office management software
Skills
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology.
- Proficiency in Dentrix.
- Experience with dental coding.
- Excellent computer skills with familiarity in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook) and typing (including 10-key typing)
- Bilingual abilities are highly valued to serve diverse patient populations effectively
- Prior dental office experience is preferred to ensure familiarity with dental office workflows.
- Ability to handle sensitive patient information discreetly while maintaining compliance with HIPAA standards
- Strong organizational skills for filing, record keeping, and managing multiple priorities in a busy front desk environment
- Exceptional customer service skills coupled with professional phone etiquette to foster positive patient interactions
