The City of Portsmouth is currently seeking two full-time Wastewater Treatment Plant Operators to join our dedicated team at the Pease Wastewater Treatment Facility. This is a great opporunity to help support enviornmental compliance and public health.
This poisiton is full-time, 40 hours a week, Monday-Friday, 7:30am-3:30pm.
Starting pay rate is $25.66 an hour per the AFSCME 1386A Working Agreement. After six (6) months of successful employment, pay rate increases to $26.95 an hour.
The purpose of this position is to assist, individually and with others, in the operation and maintenance of the wastewater treatment plant, machinery and equipment according to approved performance standards for which the operating unit is responsible. This includes functions such as treating wastewater, clearing and maintaining treatment plant facilities, wells, pumping stations and equipment, tanks, performing preventative maintenance and repair work, and otherwise completing assigned work.
