NERR provides comprehensive coverage of college basketball prospects through in-depth scouting, player rankings, written analysis, and live exposure opportunities for college coaches at events throughout the year.
Since 2023, NERR has experienced significant growth across multiple verticals, including exponential expansion on social media platforms and a fivefold increase in the number of events produced annually. NERR continues to expand its footprint as a trusted voice in grassroots basketball, serving athletes, coaches, and stakeholders at all levels of the NCAA.
Job Overview
The New England Recruiting Report is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Basketball Operations Intern to work closely with NERR Directors, college coaches, and high school prospects. This internship offers hands-on exposure across event operations, scouting, and basketball media, providing a unique opportunity to gain real-world experience inside one of the most respected grassroots basketball platforms in the region.
Interns will play an active role in planning and executing events, evaluating prospects, and contributing written content to the NERR platform while building their own professional brand and byline in the process.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of NERR events throughout the year
- Work directly with NERR Directors, college coaches, and high school prospects during live events
- Scout, evaluate, and analyze prospects with the potential to compete at all levels of the NCAA
- Contribute weekly written scouting reports, recaps, or features to the NERR platform
- Support day-to-day basketball operations, including event logistics and on-site responsibilities
- Complete additional basketball-related projects as assigned

Qualifications
- College students or recent graduates are strongly encouraged to apply
- Preferred (but not required): sport management, communications, journalism, business, or related fields
- Strong interest in basketball, recruiting, and player evaluation
- Willingness to work long hours during event weekends when needed
- Strong communication skills, professional demeanor, and a willingness to grow
This is an unpaid internship that may be completed for college credit. Interns will receive pay for working in-person events only, based on availability and role at events.
