Radiology Technical Assistant

*Job Overview*

The Radiology Technical Assistant works as a fundamental part of the Radiology department and under the supervision of a Radiologic Technologist. The Technical assistant is responsible for assisting the Technologists as instructed during routine procedures. This position will assist with brining patients to and from waiting areas and exam rooms helping with patient flow and wait times. The Technical assistant is responsible for assisting the technologists as instructed during routine procedures (i.e. such as lifting, transporting, and setting up patients and directing patients in and out of the Radiology suite). The technical assistant will also perform a variety of patient care and clerical duties to assist the Radiology Department. The technical assistant must demonstrate excellent communication skills and effectively work with staff.

Job Responsibilities:

1.) Greeting patients in a friendly manor and assisting them to the Radiology Department for diagnostic imaging tests.

2.) Having knowledge of lifting mechanics to assist patients in getting in and out of wheelchairs to the Radiology table.

3.) Maintaining patient confidentiality.

4.) Assisting in suture sterilization.

5.) Technical assistant will also help in minor clerical duties such as burning x-ray CD’s, and printing x-rays.

6.) Exercises sound independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative under pressure and in a variety of situations

7.) Knowledge of medical terminology and radiology procedures

8.) Communicates in a professional, courteous, clear, and concise manner.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00 - $23.00 per hour
