Position Overview

New England Medical Group provides integrated behavioral health and substance use disorder services. The Clinician is responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centered clinical care to an assigned caseload. Core duties include individual, group, and family services; treatment planning; clinical assessment; case management; care coordination; referrals; collateral communication; and discharge planning. Caseload and program assignments may vary based on organizational and patient needs.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Provide individual, group, and family therapy in accordance with the patient’s treatment plan and program requirements.
  • Complete biopsychosocial assessments, risk assessments, clinical measurements, treatment plans, progress notes, discharge summaries, and other required documentation accurately and on time.
  • Manage an assigned caseload and coordinate care with prescribers, clinical team members, families, referral sources, payers, and outside providers, as appropriate and with required authorization.
  • Develop, review, and update individualized treatment plans based on patient needs, progress, and level-of-care criteria.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, case consultations, utilization reviews, and discharge-planning activities.
  • Identify and respond appropriately to clinical risk, including safety concerns, crisis situations, relapse risk, and changes in patient condition.
  • Provide patient and family education and support related to diagnosis, treatment, recovery, aftercare, and community resources.
  • Ensure continuity of care through timely referrals, transfer coordination, and follow-up with receiving providers.
  • Maintain professional boundaries and comply with all applicable confidentiality, ethical, regulatory, accreditation, and organizational requirements.
  • Meet productivity, attendance, documentation, and quality standards established by New England Medical Group.
  • Perform other clinically appropriate duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in social work, counseling, psychology, marriage and family therapy, or another closely related behavioral health field from an accredited institution.
  • At least one year of direct clinical experience in a behavioral health, mental health, or substance use disorder treatment setting.
  • Current Massachusetts clinical license or license eligibility appropriate to the position and assigned duties, such as LCSW, LICSW, LMHC, LMFT, or LADC I, as applicable.
  • Ability to complete clinical documentation accurately and within required timeframes.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse patient populations and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Ability to complete required background checks, credentialing, and mandatory training.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Independent Massachusetts clinical licensure, such as LICSW, LMHC, LMFT, or LADC I.
  • Three or more years of direct clinical experience in a behavioral health or substance use disorder treatment setting.
  • Experience providing services in PHP, IOP, outpatient, or other structured day-treatment programs.
  • Experience with electronic health records and utilization-review documentation.

Work Environment

This position operates primarily in a professional clinical and office environment and routinely uses standard office and electronic health record systems. The noise level is generally moderate. The Clinician may interact with patients experiencing emotional distress, behavioral health symptoms, or substance use-related concerns.

Physical Requirements

The employee is regularly required to communicate verbally and in writing, use a computer and other office equipment, and remain seated or standing for portions of the workday. The employee may occasionally be required to walk, bend, reach, or lift and carry items weighing up to 25 pounds. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the position.

Travel

No routine travel or overnight stays are expected for this position. Occasional local travel may be required only if specifically approved and necessary to support program operations.

Salary : $62,000 - $72,000
