Position Summary
The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing manufacturing operations and direct supervision of production personnel. This role is accountable for employee performance, staffing, employee relations, training, attendance management, safety, quality, and productivity.
The Production Supervisor drives operational excellence by developing employees, enforcing company policies, and ensuring production objectives are achieved while promoting Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Production Management
- Plan, coordinate, and supervise daily production activities.
- Assign personnel and resources to meet production schedules.
- Monitor productivity, labor utilization, scrap, efficiency, and OEE performance.
- Ensure production targets are met while maintaining quality standards.
- Coordinate activities with Quality, Maintenance, Customer Service, and Planning.
· Work with Maintenance to address machine and auxiliary equipment issues, concerns, and downtime impacting production.
- Participate in weekly production meetings and report operational performance.
- Identify and implement process improvements to improve efficiency and profitability.
Employee Leadership & Relations
- Directly supervise production employees and Team Leaders.
- Conduct performance evaluations and development discussions.
- Manage attendance, scheduling, and workforce planning.
- Provide coaching, counseling, and corrective action when necessary.
- Investigate and address employee concerns and workplace issues.
- Work closely with Human Resources on employee relations matters.
- Participate in recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding activities.
- Develop succession plans and growth opportunities for team members.
Quality & Continuous Improvement
- Ensure compliance with all quality requirements and procedures.
- Lead corrective action efforts related to production issues.
- Support customer satisfaction through consistent product quality.
- Champion Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain compliance with ISO 9001 standards and Quality Management System (QMS) requirements.
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with all safety policies and procedures.
- Conduct safety discussions and reinforce safe work practices.
- Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant work environment.

Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Associate degree or equivalent work experience preferred.
- Minimum 5 years manufacturing experience.
- Previous supervisory experience preferred.
- Experience managing employee performance and employee relations strongly preferred.
- Experience in metal stamping or similar manufacturing environments preferred.
Preferred Experience
· Exposure to ISO 9001, Quality Management Systems (QMS), Lean Manufacturing, and continuous improvement methodologies.
· Prior supervisory experience considered a plus.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Proven leadership, coaching, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement principles.
- Exposure to ISO 9001 and Quality Management Systems (QMS).
- Mechanical aptitude and manufacturing process knowledge.
- Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office.
· Hands-on approach with a willingness to learn new processes, assist where needed, and support production floor activities.
- Ability to analyze production metrics and make operational decisions.
Working Conditions
- Manufacturing environment with approximately 80% of work time spent on the production floor.
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
Pay: $65,000.00 - $82,000.00 per year
