Position Summary
New England Industries, Inc. is seeking a dependable Maintenance Technician to maintain, repair, and improve manufacturing equipment, facilities, and operational systems. This role supports equipment reliability, workplace safety, and production efficiency while working closely with the Operations Manager.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Equipment Maintenance and Repairs
· Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on manufacturing equipment, including presses, servo feeds, robots, conveyors, and related machinery.
· Inspect, lubricate, adjust, clean, and replace worn components.
· Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and control system issues.
· Respond to breakdowns, perform emergency repairs, and assist with equipment installations or upgrades.
Troubleshooting and Root Cause Analysis
· Identify root causes of equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
· Use diagnostic tools to assess equipment performance and recommend improvements.
· Collaborate with production personnel to resolve recurring machine issues.
Tooling and Fabrication Support
· Maintain tooling and equipment used in precision metal stamping operations.
· Fabricate replacement parts, fixtures, guards, and repair solutions using shop equipment.
· Perform welding, cutting, grinding, drilling, and basic fabrication as needed.
Facility Maintenance
· Support building maintenance, including plumbing, minor electrical work, lighting, painting, carpentry, HVAC support, grounds maintenance, and snow removal.
· Maintain a clean, safe, and organized maintenance work area.
Inventory and Documentation
· Maintain accurate maintenance logs, repair records, inspection reports, and work orders.
· Monitor spare parts inventory and recommend replenishment of critical supplies.
· Assist with vendor coordination and outside contractors as needed.
Safety and Compliance
· Follow all company safety policies, including Lockout/Tagout, machine guarding, PPE, and OSHA requirements.
· Identify and report hazards immediately.
· Participate in safety training and continuous improvement initiatives.
Operational Support
· Assist production teams with equipment setup, changeovers, and technical support.
· Support continuous improvement and cost reduction projects.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
Performance Expectations
To be successful in this role, the Maintenance Technician is expected to work safely, respond effectively to maintenance needs, complete quality repairs, communicate clearly, and support continuous improvement.
Qualifications
Required Education
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
Required Experience
· 3-5 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
· At least 2 years of experience as an industrial mechanic, maintenance technician, or related trade.
Preferred Qualifications
· Technical training, trade certification, or apprenticeship in maintenance, mechanics, industrial technology, or a related field.
· Welding, fabrication, forklift, metal stamping, or manufacturing process experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
· Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
· Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
· Ability to read manuals, schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings.
· Experience with tools, measuring instruments, diagnostic equipment, welding, and basic fabrication.
· Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and adapt to changing operational needs.
Physical Requirements
· Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, reach, and work around moving machinery throughout the workday.
· Ability to regularly lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
· Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and while wearing required PPE.
Working Conditions
· Manufacturing environment, with most work performed on the production floor.
· Exposure to noise, heat, dust, oils, and moving machinery.
· May require overtime, weekend work, emergency call-ins, or work outside normal business hours.
