Responsibilities
- Assist with and facilitate creative activities with residents and encourage residents to participate.
- Assist in the transport of residents to activity location.
- Copy and distribute Activities schedule to residents.
- Assist with and provide appropriate group and one-on-one activity for all residents as required.
- Sort, deliver and assist residents with daily mail.
- Set up activity areas.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Attend outdoor events with residents on and off property.
- Sunroom and 1:1's with residents.
- An attitude of respect and compassion towards all residents and staff.
- Ability to communicate clearly using ASL.
- Pleasant personality and ability to maintain a calm demeanor during excitable or emergency situations.
- All staff are required to take our free, on-site ASL and Culture classes.
- Ability to exert up to 20 pounds of force to lift, carry, pull, push, or otherwise move objects and/or residents.
- Ability to push residents in wheelchairs, with unknown limit of bodyweight.
- Ability to successfully set up activities on an independent level.
- Ability to transcribe.
