Full-time Accountant - Food Distribution

At New England Food (NEF), we are seeking an experienced Accountant to provide Accounts Receivable, financial, administrative and clerical services. This role demands a dynamic individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment, is organized and detail oriented, energetic and is a self-starter. Prior food industry experience is a plus.

Duties to Include

• Generating customer invoices
• Entering vendor invoices
• Reconciling any discrepancies
• Follow-up with past due invoices
• Generate financial statements and reports detailing accounts receivable status
• Collections
• Calculating Commissions and entering into financial systems
• A/R and A/P support
• Cross-Train with all other administrative staff
• Problem solving and critical thinking
• Advanced computer skills - use of pivot tables, VLOOKUP's, subtotals, Power BI, Tableau, SQL
• Other duties as assigned
• Ongoing skills training preferred

SKILLS /QUALIFICATIONS:

• College education preferred
• Minimum 3 years experience as accounts receivable and/or accounts payable clerk
• Solid understanding of basic accounting principles
• Excellent math skills
• Extremely detail oriented
• Works well independently and with the team
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, Excel, and Quickbooks
• Experience with Acumatica a plus
