Job Summary
Billing associates are responsible for processing timely and accurate billing and payment transactions to maintain accounts receivable within acceptable guidelines. This position provides superior customer service to callers with billing and payment questions and concerns. Pay
Hiring range $20.82-$24.99 per hour based on experience and education.
Schedule
M-Th 8:00a-4:30p with ½ hour non-paid lunch daily.

Work setting
In-person. Springfield office. Willingness/ability to travel to other offices as needed.
This position reports to the Billing Manager.

Education
High school diploma or GED. Associates Degree preferred.
Licensure/Certification
Medical billing or coding certification or equivalent experience required.
Experience
1-3 years medical office experience, including customer service, insurance, referrals, basic coding knowledge and charge entry required. Dermatology experience preferred.
Skills
Professional, courteous, patient, team player that works well independently and as part of a team. Accuracy, attention to detail, good judgment, analytical skills & follow-through. Demonstrates skills with computers, practice management and electronic health record and billing payment systems, Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel, computer coding applications and medical terminology. Heavy patient and insurance communication; patient billing calls. Strong verbal & written communication skills; interpersonal interactions are primarily over the phone or via correspondence. Flexibility, able to prioritize, multi-task and/or change tasks as needed without notice and work on various projects simultaneously. Tact, diplomacy, persistence and persuasion. Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Salary : $21 - $25
