Working Foreman / Site Supervisor – Excavation Heavy Civil Construction
Full-Time Position
We are a growing heavy civil construction company seeking an experienced Working Foreman / Site Supervisor to lead and work alongside field crews on commercial site development and underground utility projects. This is a hands-on leadership role for an individual with strong experience in heavy civil construction, sitework, and utility installation.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and actively participate in daily construction operations
- Lead crews performing underground utility work, including water, sewer, drainage, and stormwater systems
- Coordinate daily job site activities to ensure projects remain on schedule and within scope
- Read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, elevations, and project specifications
- Perform site layout and verify accurate execution of work
- Operate heavy equipment as needed
- Monitor crew productivity and manage workflow efficiently
- Calculate and track material quantities, including import/export requirements
- Enforce company safety policies and OSHA standards
- Identify, document, and address job site hazards
- Ensure safe trenching, excavation, and confined-space work practices
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Working Foreman, Site Supervisor, or similar leadership role in heavy civil construction
- Strong background in commercial sitework and underground utility installation
- Proven ability to lead crews and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction plans and specifications
- Experience operating heavy equipment
- Strong commitment to workplace safety
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening
Required Certifications & Licenses
- OSHA 30 Certification
- DOT Medical Card & Pass drug testing
- Massachusetts Hoisting License
- Valid Driver’s License with reliable transportation
Compensation & Benefits
- $45.00 – $50.00 per hour, based on experience
