Education:
- High School diploma or GED
Training:
- (When Hired) Employee Orientation
- Annual Safety Training
- Annual Quality Procedures Training
- Relevant Job Specific Skill Training
- Training as mandated by State of Connecticut
- One-three years polishing/buffing of metal aerospace parts
- Shop Math, use of precision measurement instruments
- Ability to read blueprints and drawings
Experience:
- One to three years of relevant job experience
Job Responsibilities
Work under the direction of the Polishing Team Leader.
- Plan and perform a wide variety of very complex polishing and buffing activities to impart the desired finish within specified tolerances to partially or completely process blades within limits of standard and recognized procedures.
- Work from gauge and operation number provided to obtain proper operation sheet dimensions from file.
- Follow specifications to polish and buff blades of a very complex configuration requiring the highest degree of skill to obtain desired result.
- Work to very close tolerances. Rework deviated blades to reclaim and avoid scrap. Polish, blend and feather faces of foil to leading and trailing edge, buff and check chord, polish and blend base and radius.
First Shift - 5:00 am - 3:00 pm
Monday - Thursday (10 hour days)
Salary : $20 - $25
