Description:
This is a field-based, hands-on position which contributes to the construction of utility scale solar fields. The employee facilitates project implementation and is responsible for ensuring that a safe, quality, and timely product is delivered. Great communication skills, analytical thinking, problem solving abilities, strong computer skills, and excellent knowledge of AC and DC electrical work, large scale underground installations, monitoring, and controls are vital for this role.
Location and Travel: our current projects are located in Illinois and Colorado. This position requires geographic mobility, and the chosen candidate must live near the job site for the duration of the project. NESCO employees receive per diem, mileage reimbursement, paid time off, and other company benefits. Employees are encouraged to travel home as often as practicable.
Licensing: Applicants must hold a valid Electrical JW license. Ideally, candidates hold a Colorado JW license, or a license that reciprocates to Colorado. Please see the DORA website for more information - https://dpo.colorado.gov/Electrical/Applications.
Main Responsibilities:
· Install high quality electrical enclosures, conduits, conductors, and terminations.
· Test/Inspect/Document conductors and electrical equipment per NETA and manufacturer standards for safety and efficiency.
· Actively participate in and drive safety culture on site.
· Mentoring and training electrical apprentices in various scopes of electrical work.
Other Responsibilities:
· Responsible for the quality of work over electrical scopes assigned to the individual.
· Daily responses to emails and phone calls.
· Responsible for QC documentation, photos, and reporting in Procore as determined by Electrical Foreman.
· Use knowledge and experience to optimize the safety, quality, and efficiency of electrical installations.
· Ensure assigned team members perform key tasks under the individual’s purview.
· Always conduct yourself in a professional manner inside and outside of work.
· All other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
· Has a thorough understanding of the National Electrical Code.
· Has at least one valid/current state electrical license (NO EXCEPTIONS) and willing to test in additional jurisdictions as required.
· Flexibility to travel from project to project for extended durations.
· Minimum 4 years of electrical experience (solar/underground experience a plus.)
· Ability to read and understand electrical drawings.
· Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
· Time management skills.
· Works well in a team environment.
· Willing and able to work in all weather conditions.
· Skid steer and forklift operating experience preferred.
· Overtime required based on project needs.
· Clean driving record, current/valid DL, and reliable means of transportation
· Pass a pre-employment and random drug screenings
· Able to lift 50 lbs.
