About the Role
Are you looking to kickstart or advance your career in metal fabrication and welding? New Element is hiring a motivated Apprentice Welder and Fabricator to join our team in Redmond!
In this entry-level apprentice role, you will work hands-on alongside experienced professionals learning to fabricate and assemble high-quality commercial hollow metal doors according to Steel Door Institute (SDI) standards. If you have basic welding knowledge, a great attitude, and a desire to learn and grow in the industry, we want to hear from you!
What You’ll Do (Key Responsibilities):
Learn & Build: Learn how to fabricate and weld components for commercial hollow metal doors using SDI guidelines and technical blueprints.
Hands-on Assembly: Operate welding equipment (MIG, TIG) and shop tools safely and efficiently under guided mentorship.
Quality Assurance: Learn quality control standards to ensure finished products meet project specifications.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with team members to keep production running smoothly and efficiently.
Workspace Safety: Maintain a clean, safe, and organized shop/warehouse environment.
Who You Are (Qualifications & Requirements):
Growth Mindset: Strong enthusiasm to learn commercial metal fabrication and develop long-term skills in the industry.
Basic Foundation: Basic familiarity or hands-on practice with welding techniques (MIG, TIG) through vocational training, entry-level experience, or personal projects.
Detail-Oriented: Willingness to learn how to read blueprints and technical drawings with strong attention to quality craftsmanship.
Reliable Work Ethic: Dependable, safety-conscious, and ready to work in a hands-on warehouse environment.
Location: Must be able to commute to Redmond, WA 98052 (or relocate prior to starting).
Welding certifications or formal shop training are a plus, but not required!
