Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, this executive-level role is responsible for overseeing branch operations, operations support, call center functions, compliance initiatives, operational technology projects, and process improvement efforts.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced financial services leader with a strong background in operations management, regulatory compliance, team development, and operational efficiency. This individual will play a critical role in driving organizational performance, enhancing member experience, supporting sustainable growth, and ensuring operational excellence across the credit union.
Job Requirements
- Provide leadership and oversight of branch operations, operations support teams, and call center functions
- Develop, implement, and maintain operational policies, procedures, and best practices across the organization
- Partner with branch managers and department leaders to improve operational performance and member service
- Establish and monitor operational KPIs, service metrics, and performance benchmarks
- Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements, including BSA, AML, OFAC, Fair Lending, and internal policies
- Lead operational risk management initiatives, audits, examinations, and corrective action plans
- Drive process improvement and operational efficiency initiatives across branch, digital, and operational channels
- Partner with IT and cross-functional teams to implement technology enhancements, automation, and workflow improvements
- Oversee operational budgets, forecasting, resource allocation, and expense management
- Analyze operational performance and provide recommendations to executive leadership
- Collaborate with Finance, Lending, Marketing, and other departments to align operational priorities with organizational goals
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing operations team
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and member-focused service
- Support succession planning, employee development, and leadership growth initiatives
- Represent operations in executive meetings, board presentations, and strategic planning discussions
- Participate in organizational initiatives and projects that support long-term growth and operational excellence
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Operations Management, or related field required
- MBA or advanced degree preferred
- Minimum 10 years of operations leadership experience within a credit union, bank, or financial institution
- Minimum 5 years of senior management or executive leadership experience
- Proven experience overseeing branch operations, operational support functions, and member service teams
- Experience managing call center or contact center operations
- Strong knowledge of financial institution regulations, compliance requirements, and operational risk management
- Experience with BSA, AML, OFAC, Fair Lending, and regulatory examinations
- Demonstrated success leading enterprise-wide process improvement and technology initiatives
- Strong financial management, budgeting, and resource planning experience
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and relationship management skills
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and large-scale operational initiatives
- Strategic thinker with strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
- High level of professionalism, integrity, and commitment to member service
- Credit union experience strongly preferred
