This is a high-production role focused on generating new commercial lending and deposit relationships across the Broward County market. The ideal candidate is a proven business developer with an established network, strong credit knowledge, and a successful track record of originating C&I and Commercial Real Estate (CRE) loans while growing core deposit relationships. This individual will operate independently, manage their own business development efforts, and play a key role in expanding the Bank's market presence.
Essential Responsibilities
- Develop new commercial banking relationships with middle-market and privately held businesses throughout Broward County.
- Generate new Commercial & Industrial (C&I) and Commercial Real Estate (CRE) loan opportunities.
- Grow commercial deposit relationships with a strong emphasis on non-interest-bearing demand deposit accounts (DDA).
- Develop and execute a strategic business development plan to consistently achieve annual production goals.
- Build and maintain strong referral networks with attorneys, CPAs, commercial real estate professionals, business brokers, and other Centers of Influence (COIs).
- Structure commercial lending opportunities and partner with Credit Administration throughout the underwriting and approval process.
- Negotiate loan terms and present financing solutions that meet both customer needs and the Bank's credit standards.
- Manage and expand an assigned portfolio by deepening existing client relationships and identifying cross-sell opportunities.
- Partner with Treasury Management, Private Banking, and other business lines to maximize client relationships and share of wallet.
- Maintain a consistent pipeline of qualified prospects through networking, community involvement, and business development activities.
- Monitor portfolio performance and ensure compliance with all credit policies and regulatory requirements.
- Provide regular pipeline and production updates to executive leadership and participate in weekly production meetings.
- Represent the Bank professionally within the local business community through networking events and industry organizations.
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of commercial banking and business development experience.
- Current Vice President or Senior Vice President level commercial banker preferred.
- Proven track record of business development with an established commercial client network in Broward County.
- Strong experience originating both C&I and Commercial Real Estate (CRE) loans.
- Formal commercial credit training required.
- Strong knowledge of commercial credit analysis, loan structuring, and underwriting principles.
- Demonstrated success growing commercial deposit relationships, particularly non-interest-bearing DDA accounts.
- Experience managing commercial client portfolios and developing long-term banking relationships.
- Strong negotiation, presentation, and relationship management skills.
- Excellent knowledge of commercial banking products including treasury management, deposits, and lending solutions.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and consistently meet aggressive production goals.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
