Job Title: BIM Manager (Reality Capture, Drone & Construction Layout)
Location: Reno, NV (Travel 50% to construction sites in other states)

We are seeking an experienced BIM Manager with strong expertise in reality capture, drone operations, and construction layout technologies. This role will lead BIM/VDC initiatives while integrating field data collection—including LiDAR scanning, UAV (drone) mapping, and robotic total station layout—to ensure seamless alignment between digital models and on-site construction. The ideal candidate will drive innovation across digital and field workflows, improving accuracy, efficiency, and project delivery.
BIM Leadership & Management
- Develop and enforce BIM standards, workflows, and execution plans
- Structure and drive the BIM execution process
- Manage and coordinate multidisciplinary BIM models (primarily structural, electrical and mechanical)
- Participate in BIM coordination meetings with the general contractors and act as the focal point for BIM issues.
- Work closely with project managers, superintendents, engineers, designers, and modellers
- Present digital workflows, visualizations, and insights to stakeholders
Reality Capture & Site Scanning
- Plan and execute 3D laser scanning (LiDAR) of project sites using Navvis VLX3
- Process and register point cloud data for integration into BIM models
- Validate as-built conditions and ensure model accuracy at critical project stages
- Manage scan-to-BIM workflows and deliverables
Drone (UAV) Operations
- Perform drone flights for site mapping, inspections, and progress tracking
- Capture and process photogrammetry data into 2D/3D outputs (orthomosaics, meshes, terrain models)
- Conduct volumetric analysis and site logistics visualization
- Maintain FAA compliance and safety protocols
Construction Layout & Field Integration
- Operate and manage robotic total stations, including Trimble layout systems
- Translate BIM models into field-ready layout data for accurate installation
- Coordinate digital layout workflows between office and field teams
- Perform field verification, layout checks, and tolerance validation
Data Integration & Digital Delivery
- Integrate BIM, scan data, drone imagery, and layout coordinates into a unified dataset
- Support construction planning, sequencing, and progress reporting
- Develop and support workflows for model-based estimating, procurement balance, kitting, prefabrication, logistics, and site analysis
- Enforce BIM data and parameter standards to drive data integrity across software platforms and project phases
- Be the in-house expert on Revit automation and model data extraction
QualificationsRequired:
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
- 5 years of BIM/VDC experience, including leadership roles
- Hands-on experience with laser scanning and point cloud processing
- Proven experience with drone operations in construction or surveying
- Experience with robotic total stations and construction layout workflows
- Proficiency in BIM software (Revit, Navisworks, Civil 3D)
- Familiarity with Autodesk Construction Cloud or similar platforms
- Strong understanding of construction methods and field operations
Preferred:
- Knowledge of GIS and geospatial data integration
- Experience with Dynamo, Python, or automation workflows
- Experience with reality capture tools (Recap, Faro Scene, Pix4D, DroneDeploy)
- Familiarity with Trimble hardware/software ecosystems (e.g., Trimble Layout, Trimble Field Link)
- FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certification
Salary : $156,000 - $182,000
