Senior Project Manager
Summary/Objective
Responsible for managing all aspects of the project under minimal supervision to ensure achievement of the business plan and promote the development and growth of assigned staff.
Primary Job Responsibilities
- Builds, leads, and motivates an effective project management and field operations team.
- Maintains strong relationships with assigned accounts and stakeholders.
- Oversees and ensures consistent application of technical policies and construction procedures.
- Implements field systems, methods, and safety programs effectively.
- Manages project controls including estimating, cost tracking, scheduling, and reporting.
- Reviews and prepares pricing and documentation for change orders.
- Prepares control estimates using up-to-date tools and cost awareness.
- Supports client meetings, represents the company externally, and aids in marketing activities.
- Manages materials procurement and communication with vendors and field personnel.
- Prepares project documentation including reports, projections, and field communication logs.
- Administers financial documentation such as invoices, requisitions, and payroll.
- Provides mentorship and training to project engineers, assistant project managers, and project managers.
- Actively participates in internal training programs as an instructor.
- Assists in recruiting project engineering staff.

Supervisory Responsibility
This position directly supervises Project Engineers, Assistant Project Managers, and Project Managers.
Work Environment
This role involves a mix of office-based and field-based work. Field visits require exposure to active construction sites, uneven terrain, loud noises, and varying weather conditions.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the primary functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position may require long periods of sitting and working on a computer. Fieldwork may require walking, standing, and lifting materials up to 25 pounds.
Expected Hours of Work
Typical hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with flexibility for starting and end times. Occasional evenings or weekends may be required based on project needs.
Travel
Periodic local travel to project sites, client offices, and vendor locations is required. Estimated travel: less than 20%.
Required Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, Finance, or Accounting preferred, or equivalent industry experience of 15 years or more. Minimum 8–10 years of overall construction experience with at least 3 years in a Project Manager role.

Must successfully pass a background check and drug screening.
