Summary/Objective
The Project Engineer supports estimating and project management functions under direct supervision and within defined policies and procedures. This role assists in preparing estimates, interpreting project plans and specifications, and supporting jobsite operations to gain a thorough understanding of the field methods and systems. The position is designed to foster growth in technical knowledge and project execution within the construction industry.
Primary Job Responsibilities

* Assist in the preparation and review of bids in compliance with Estimating Policies and Procedures.
* Perform quantity take-offs using digital take-off software.
* Interpret plans, drawings, and project specifications.
* Support job cost tracking and control measures.
* Occasionally visit active job sites to observe field methods and systems.
* Develop technical expertise in metal framing, drywall, insulation, acoustical ceilings, and rough carpentry.
* Acquire working knowledge of relevant local, city, and state building codes.
* Participate in company training programs and attend scope review meetings.
* Assist in the preparation of written proposals and vendor/material pricing analysis.
* Maintain accurate project documentation and organization of project folders
Other Responsibilities
* Support business development initiatives and company marketing efforts.
* Collaborate with internal teams including estimating, project management, and field operations.
* Contribute to post-project reviews and lessons-learned documentation.
* Perform other duties assigned by management.

Work Environment
This job operates in both office and construction site environments. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to:
* Indoor office settings with standard technology and equipment
* Outdoor construction sites with uneven terrain
* Varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and wind
* Construction-related noise and airborne particles
Physical Demands
* Regularly required to talk and hear
* Frequently required to sit for extended periods, use hands to handle or feel, and operate computers and phones
* Occasionally required to stand, walk, climb stairs or ladders, and lift materials up to 25 pounds
* Will be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) when on job sites
Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are typically Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Occasional evening or weekend work may be required to meet project deadlines.
Travel
Travel to local job sites is required; occasional overnight travel may be necessary depending on project location. Estimated travel: 5%.
Required Education and Experience
* Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, Finance, or Accounting preferred
* 0 to 3 years of related experience in construction or project support roles
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
Must be able to get a background check and drug test.
Work Authorization
Must be eligible to work in the United States.
