Job Title: Home Based Crisis Intervention Supervisor
Department: Home Based Crisis Intervention Program (HBCI)

Position Summary

The HBCI Supervisor will support the HBCI interventionist team with administrative and supervisory responsibilities. This role leads a team of 4 interventionists in delivering crucial support to families in crisis, helping to create stability and resilience within their homes. The Supervisor ensures the use of evidence-based and trauma-informed practices, provides clinical direction, and oversees case management services to strengthen outcomes for youth and families.

Department

New Directions’ Home Based Crisis Intervention Program supports youth and families by providing short-term, intensive, in-home crisis intervention services to prevent psychiatric hospitalization and stabilize family functioning.

Compensation

$68,000 – $69,700 annually (based on education and years of relevant experience).

Hours/Schedule

  • Full-Time

  • Monday – Friday, flexible hours, with availability outside standard business hours to support interventionists and families.

Position Specific Duties/Responsibilities

  • Provide direct supervision, coaching, and growth opportunities for HBCI staff.

  • Deliver clinical direction on individual cases and support best outcomes.

  • Conduct weekly one-on-one and group supervision sessions.

  • Manage day-to-day program operations, referral assignments, and case coverage as needed.

  • Provide on-call coverage and case consultation support to staff.

  • Monitor electronic health records (EHR) and CAIRS for quality and compliance.

  • Ensure staff complete and maintain required trainings.

  • Collaborate with LGU and SPOA teams for enrolled youth.

  • Create and maintain policy and procedure manuals and ensure program compliance.

  • Support program evaluation and outcome measurement through PQI and OMH CAIRS reporting.

  • Maintain adherence to all program, agency, and regulatory standards.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.

  • Ability to provide crisis de-escalation, screening, assessment, and family psychoeducation.

  • Experience with trauma-informed and evidence-based practices.

  • Ability to work effectively with diverse clients, families, staff, and community partners.

  • Ability to provide supervision and clinical direction.

  • Flexibility to adapt to change and maintain availability outside of standard hours.

  • Proficiency in written, verbal, and electronic communication methods.

  • Valid NYS driver’s license, adequate auto insurance, and reliable transportation.

  • Ability to pass an annual physical and comply with safety standards.

Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree.
  • Licensed Psychologist, Licensed Master Social Worker, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Licensed Mental Health Counselor, or Licensed Creative Arts Therapist.
