Job Description:
Seeking a Software Engineer to join a development team that supports multiple F/A-18 and EA-18G aircraft software projects. Projects are multi-year efforts, in support of US and FMS Customers.
- Perform requirements analysis and functional allocation
- Implement allocated requirements through software design, code, developer test and test support
- Investigate, analyze and resolve reported software anomalies
- Work closely with the Program Manager and Chief Engineer to design and implement software requirements and solutions
- Design, develop, and implement computer software systems
- Provide and support structured process improvement activities
- Responsible for software design, quality, and performance meeting program requirements and customer expectations
- Analyze customer objectives to derive system design and system interface specifications
- Work with research teams to develop and customize software solutions for specific experimental objectives
- Perform software / hardware integration and maintenance
- Perform software component tests and system integration tests for adherence to specifications
- Recommend new technologies and novel approaches for complex system requirements
- Apply software best practices (version control, documentation, etc.) for all developed and modified software.
Education and Work Experience Requirements:
Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required
Bachelor’s degree in computer science/engineering is required; however other disciplines, such as Electronics Engineer with strong software experience will be considered with 2 years of relevant experience.
- Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a security clearance
- Ability to work as part of a Scrum/Agile Team
- Include some of the following: Java, C, C
- Must be prepared to adapt to quickly changing requirements during development processes
- Successful candidates will be highly motivated and team-oriented
Desired Skills:
Familiarity with Git, Visual Studio, Eclipse, Linux, OpenVMS, UNIX, Fortran and Python
