Part-Time Day Shifts Available :
Saturday: 8 a.m. - 8 p.m. Sunday: 8 a.m. - 8 p.m. (every other weekend)
NDC is looking for individuals with a passion to help survivors of intimate partner and sexual violence. This role requires approximately 24 hours of work every other week, with the possibility of additional hours as needed.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Answer the agency’s crisis hotline and the Lethality Assessment Protocol hotline during scheduled shifts.
- Provide hospital accompaniment for victims of sexual assault and strangulation as notified to the hotline by Augusta Health.
- Conduct pre-intake interviews and residential intakes with individuals and families entering the shelter program and complete intake forms for clients who elect to receive agency services.
- Provide crisis intervention, safety planning, support, and advocacy services to individuals who are or have been impacted by emotional, physical, and sexual violence and human trafficking.
- Provide educational information, resource materials, and community and professional referrals to individuals seeking assistance.
- Maintain up-to-date and confidential client and agency records and enter statistical information into the database.
- On-site responsibilities may include cleaning, organizing, and other maintenance at the shelter facility.
- Attend community and awareness events as scheduled.
Requirements:
- Ability to work closely as a member of a team with other agency staff, volunteers, and interns as well as to work independently and with minimal supervision.
- Work scheduled shifts as assigned.
- Attend basic domestic and sexual violence advocacy training sessions as well as continuing professional education training.
- Successfully pass a criminal background and driving record review, and maintain a clear record.
Qualifications:
- High school degree or equivalent.
- Experience and/or knowledge/expertise regarding issues associated with emotional, physical, and sexual violence, human trafficking, and crisis management/intervention.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Workspace is a requirement.
- Strong verbal, written, and organizational communication skills.
Pay: $15.00 per hour
