What are the responsibilities and job description for the Support Staff position at New Dimensions?
Join our team at New Dimensions and help make a difference in the lives of adults with developmental disabilities or mental illness. As a Support Staff member, you’ll play a vital role in helping individuals engage more fully in their communities. This includes providing hands-on support, skill-building, and guidance in areas such as community living and employment training.
Support Staff assist individuals as they:
- Transition into community-based jobs
- Participate in volunteer opportunities
- Receive on-the-job training
- Engage in various local activities
You’ll be an advocate for the individuals you support—helping them follow their vocational plans and ensuring services are delivered with dignity, safety, privacy, and respect.
Preferred Experience:
- Previous experience working with individuals with disabilities
Minimum Requirements:
- High School diploma or GED
- Valid Michigan driver's license with a good driving record
- Ability to pass a criminal background check
- Ability to pass new hire and random drug screenings (including for marijuana)
- Pass a Recipient Rights background check
- Availability to work evenings and weekends as needed

- Flexible, based on the needs and preferences of the individuals you support
