As a Staff Accountant, you will play a key role in managing the financial health of our organization and ensuring compliance with all accounting and reporting regulations. Duties:
- Execute day-to-day accounting tasks, including general ledger maintenance, accounts payable, accounts receivable.
- Preparation and analysis of monthly financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
- Manage employee payroll system and execute reliable payroll reports.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather financial information and provide support for budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Support team with inventory adjustments and credit memos.
- Conduct variance analysis and investigate discrepancies to ensure the reliability of financial data.
- Assist in the implementation and improvement of accounting processes and internal controls.
- Support special projects and ad hoc financial analyses as needed.
- Maintain cash position reporting, projecting future cash balances given expected payables and collections.
- Assist in HR department as needed
Skills:
To be successful in this role, you should possess the following skills:
- Strong knowledge of double entry bookkeeping principles
- Proficiency in financial management practices
- Understanding of debits, credits, and general ledger accounts
- Experience with payroll processing and tax regulations
- Familiarity with corporate accounting procedures
- Ability to forecast financial outcomes accurately
- Knowledge of technical accounting standards and practices
- Understanding of accrual accounting principles
- Familiarity with governmental accounting requirements
Additional Helpful Skills:
-Experience in the solar industry
-Experience working with prevailing wage
-Experience working with project financing requirements for job close out and payment
Experience:
-Bachelor's degree in accounting
-3 years of accounting experience
-Proficiency in QuickBooks Online
-Proficiency with Paychex Payroll
-Strong customer service
-Works well in a team format for project coordination
