Duties

• Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum plans that promote literacy, math, physical education, and social-emotional learning aligned with early childhood education standards.
• Create a nurturing classroom environment that encourages curiosity, independence, and positive behavior management.
• Support children’s physical needs through toddler care, classroom activities, and health safety procedures including first aid and CPR when necessary.
• Communicate regularly with parents or guardians about children’s progress, behaviors, and developmental milestones to foster strong home-school connections.
• Maintain detailed documentation of child development progress, classroom activities, and adherence to mandated reporting laws for child welfare.
• Manage classroom routines effectively to ensure smooth transitions between activities while maintaining discipline and engagement.
• Collaborate with colleagues on lesson planning, classroom management strategies, and implementing specialized programs such as Montessori or inclusive special education initiatives.

Skills

• Proven experience working with children in preschool or daycare settings; familiarity with toddler care is highly valued.
• Strong understanding of childhood development principles, early intervention techniques, and behavior management strategies.
• Expertise in curriculum development across literacy education, math instruction, physical education, and other core subjects for young learners.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, colleagues, and community partners.
• Knowledge of mandated reporting laws related to child abuse prevention and child welfare policies.
• Classroom management skills that foster a positive learning environment while maintaining safety standards.
• Ability to adapt lesson plans for diverse learning needs including special education accommodations.
• Certifications such as First Aid and CPR are required; additional qualifications in Montessori teaching or early intervention are advantageous.

Pay: $15.15 - $18.00 per hour
