Key Responsibilities
Youth Empowerment Specialist Duties (Primary Role):
- Provide supervision and support to youth in a therapeutic group home
- Assist with daily living activities and hygiene routines
- Facilitate 1:1 and group engagement, ensuring a positive environment
- Monitor, document, and report on youth behaviors and conditions
- Support and supervise medication administration and documentation
- Assist with admissions, discharges, and transfers
- Respond to crises using trauma-informed, non-violent techniques
- Accompany youth to appointments and emergency care as needed
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe living environments
- Accurately complete documentation: DAP notes, incident reports, logs
- Follow and uphold all policies, procedures, and safety protocols
- Prepare and serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner following prepared menus
- Prepare school lunches and transport them to Day Treatment facility
- Ensure proper food thawing and preparation for upcoming meals
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in kitchen, dining, and storage areas
- Wash dishes and clean equipment after meals
- Receive and store groceries properly
- Complete state-required meal forms and post daily menus
- Comply with food safety standards and Serve Safe practices (certification preferred)
This is a Full-Time position with a flexible hybrid schedule:
Evening Shifts
- Monday–Friday: 3:30 PM – 11:30 PM
- Weekend Shifts:
- Saturday/Sunday: 7:30 AM – 3:30 PM and 3:30 PM – 11:30 PM
- Fill-in cooking duties assigned as needed during morning or day shifts
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent (required)
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or 6 months in therapeutic group care
- 2 years experience working with at-risk youth or in residential/group care setting
- Experience in meal preparation for large groups preferred
- Serve Safe certification a plus (not required)
- Must pass criminal and child protective services background checks
- Must have a valid Montana driver’s license and insurable driving record
- Must maintain certifications in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention, CPR, and First Aid (provided upon hire)
- Ability to communicate clearly, respectfully, and effectively
- Able to document incidents, behaviors, and activities accurately
- Strong time management, multitasking, and organizational skills
- Able to lift/move up to 15 lbs, and physically engage in youth care responsibilities
- Ability to follow safety and health procedures, including proper food handling
- Comfortable working both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Pay: $18.00–$20.00/hour (DOE)
