POSITION TITLE: Positive Behavior Guidance Coach
LOCATION: Riverdale, Hugo, Lino Lakes and Lexington
TYPE: Part time
COMPENSATION: From $20.00 / hour
POSITION PURPOSE:
Working as a Positive Behavior Guidance Coach can be a challenging yet rewarding position where you may work with children who display very aggressive or destructive behaviors and must exercise patience to allow progress. This position will receive direction from the Education Leadership team on locations in need of coaching support to guide staff on how to work with children that may need a different approach to teaching, an adjustment to the classroom environment, or simply encouragement through situations that arise.
We are looking for someone who can travel among some different New Creations locations!
Job Responsibilities:
- Act as the case manager for assigned students across multiple New Creations locations, collaborating with a variety of specialists and community agencies.
- Maintain a data tracking system to monitor and record student progress when Behavior Plans are implemented in partnership with the Site Director, Classroom Teacher, and Parent(s) across all New Creations locations.
- Assist in positive behavior guidance training and observations for staff as scheduled by the Education Leadership Team.
- Build relationships with outside organizations and trainers
- Create and provide frequent trainings for parents and staff in regards to Positive Behavior Guidance, Social/Emotional Development, and any other areas of development as it could relate to successful home and classroom environments. (no more than 1x/month for parents and 1x/month for staff)
- Maintain a system of open communication with parents and involve parents in planning and delivery of support when requested by the Site Director.
- Maintain good relationships with Site Directors, staff, and students.
- Complete paperwork requirements of the job using approved forms in an accurate and timely manner to ensure all locations are following proper steps if dis-enrollment becomes necessary.
- Maintain confidentiality of student records and of staff and complies with state and federal regulations regarding privacy.
- Maintain regular visits to locations that have been assigned support in order to preserve the continuity of service delivery for the program.
- Perform duties in a manner reasonably expected and generally recognized by the profession.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Education Leadership Team.

Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Must be at least 18 years old and Associates Degree in a related field is required; Bachelor's Degree preferred
- Must be Teacher qualified under DCYF Rule 3 Standards. Official transcripts of all post-secondary work required.
- Two to three years of experience as a Teacher or Experience in Early Intervention and/or Early Childhood Special Education with the understanding of early child development, including the interrelated aspects of cognitive, language, and social development
- Ability to respect confidential information
- State DHS background check and fingerprints shall determine that the applicant has not been “convicted of a felony... has no criminal record that the commissioner reasonably believes renders the person unsuitable to be employed in a child care center.”
- Certification in Adult and Pediatric First Aid & CPR completed within 30 days of employment.
- SUIDS & AHT completed on first day of employment.
PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS
With or without reasonable accommodation this position requires:
- Ability to travel on an ongoing basis.
- Extensive standing and walking; sitting on the floor and on low (12”) chairs.
- Frequent bending, stooping, and kneeling.
- Lifting and carrying children extensively in the infant/toddler program; less frequently in the preschool program, but the children are heavier.
- Pushing children in buggies, strollers, and walking for considerable periods.
- The necessity of being outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Exposure to unpleasant odors and fluids caused by vomit (occasional) and bodily elimination.
- Relatively frequent exposure to loud noises (baby crying, toys falling and other common occurrences of children at play).
Salary : $20 - $23
