What are the responsibilities and job description for the Student Teaching Assistant, Music Theory position at New College of Florida?
The Student Music Theory Teaching Assistant contributes to student success and effective instruction in music through a variety of duties. Teaching Assistants (TAs) also serve as a model student to their peers.,
- Hold weekly TA hours to help students with assignments or questions about class material
- Be available outside of regular TA hours to answer questions about the class, respond to students over email
- TAs may occasionally attend class depending on the needs of the course
- Set up and logistics for courses including photocopying and classroom setup
- Contribute ideas for the classes including playlist creation, assignment reviews, as needed
- Help students stay organized and on track
- TAs must have completed Music Theory I and II
- Solid skills as a musician are a plus
- A strong passion for music and a desire to help others
- Good organizational skills and consistent communication
