What are the responsibilities and job description for the OPS-Campus Recreation/Lifeguard position at New College of Florida?
Maintains the proper functioning of all Campus Recreation spaces while providing an upbeat welcoming attitude to the community. Being professional in your communications with the community and a hard-working attitude are expected. Organization, timeliness, and motivation to improve Campus Recreation programs are good traits for this position. Lifeguarding responsibilities will be assigned once required certification is attained. Once hired the Campus Recreation Lifeguard will be assigned a Project Focus Team which could be any of the following: Even, Leadership, Maintenance, Marketing, or Safety Team.
- Open and close the Campus Recreation spaces following procedural process
- Work to assist in the maintenance of a well-functioning program
- This will include the following:
- Logging in students/staff/faculty
- Keeping inventory of materials and signing out equipment to NCF affiliates
- Organizing equipment, cleaning tasks, and managing spaces
- Helping with projects assigned by supervisor
- This will include the following:
- Give tours of spaces and equipment
- Provide exceptional customer service
- Be knowledgeable about equipment in whichever Campus Recreation space you are working
- Work on Focus Team projects
- Staying up to date about events/programming
- Other duties as assigned
- Ability to lift 45lbs
- Must get lifeguard, CPR, and first aid certified within 4 months of starting date
- * Required Swim test
- Ability to work with minor supervision and direction
- Ability to problem solve when it comes to improving Campus Recreation programs
- Knowledgeable about some type of fitness/health, equipment use, safety, watersports, boating, aquatics or related activities
- Knowledgeable about Google Workspace/Apps
- Attend all MANDATORY training/events
- Strong knowledge of how to use ZOOM, Google Meets, YouTube and streaming is a plus
