What are the responsibilities and job description for the Direct Support Professional (DSP) Front Line Supervisor position at New Choices Inc.?
Job Summary
- Performs 35 hours per week of direct cares with individuals that may have a brain injury, intellectual disability or mental illness
- Performs 5 hours per week of administrative responsibilities including documentation, scheduling and on-call responsibilities.
- Must be able to work flexible hours as needed, including evenings, weekends and holiday hours.
- Assures that staff is trained accordingly on programs and assures programs are are run and documented correctly and that Individual rights are being honored as listed in their yearly plan
- Provide support in interpersonal communication, problem solving, money management, personal hygiene, etc.
- Provide Transportation as Needed
- Support Clients in Medical Visits, & Recreational Activities
- Promote Independence
- Maintain Clean & Safe, Home-like Environment
- Promote nutritious meal plans and physical activities that facilitate personal health and well being.
- Completes necessary paperwork for individuals on caseload
- Completes all task requested by Program Coordinator
- Ensure staff are trained according on programs for individual needs
Qualifications and Skills
*High school diploma required and minimum of 1 years experience in the human service field.
*To become certified in CPR and First Aid, Mandt 1 and 2, Medication Manager, Mandatory Reporting, All Agency Orientation modules and all other required classes correlated with Supervisor's caseload.
*Good Communication skills and the ability to work well with others as a team.
* Is computer literate
*Able to use good judgment in a crisis situation and on a daily basis.
*Carry a cell phone at all times and respond in a timely manner.
