Position Overview
New Capital Partners is seeking to hire two to three investment professionals at the Vice President, Senior Associate, or Associate level, depending on experience. These are full-time, in-person roles based in our Birmingham, Alabama office.
These professionals will be involved across the investment lifecycle, with a particular emphasis on sourcing new investment opportunities, evaluating and diligencing prospective investments, and supporting transaction execution. In addition, the roles will work closely with portfolio company leadership teams and firm partners on strategic and operational initiatives designed to drive value creation post-close.
The ideal candidates will have demonstrated experience identifying and pursuing new investment opportunities, performing rigorous due diligence, and contributing meaningfully to investment decisions. Candidates should also have a genuine interest in working alongside management teams on operational and growth-oriented initiatives within portfolio companies. Prior portfolio operations experience is welcomed, but not required.
Key Responsibilities
- Source and evaluate new investment opportunities through proactive outreach, relationship development, and market coverage
- Lead or support due diligence efforts, including financial analysis, business diligence, market research, and management assessment
- Build financial models and conduct valuation analysis to assess investment attractiveness
- Prepare investment committee materials, internal memoranda, and presentations for firm leadership and investors
- Assist in transaction execution, including coordination with management teams, advisors, lenders, and other stakeholders
- Support portfolio companies on strategic and operational initiatives, including growth planning, performance improvement, and key business projects
- Participate in activities related to raising investment funds and deploying capital
- Work closely with senior leadership at New Capital Partners and portfolio companies on a broad range of investment and value creation initiatives
Qualifications
- Relevant experience in private equity, investment banking, consulting, corporate development, or a related field
- Demonstrated experience sourcing investment opportunities and/or supporting business development efforts in an investing context
- Strong experience conducting due diligence and evaluating businesses across financial, commercial, and strategic dimensions
- Excellent financial modeling, valuation, analytical, and research skills
- Strong business judgment and the ability to think critically and strategically
- Genuine interest in supporting operational and strategic initiatives within portfolio companies
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with management teams, advisors, investors, and colleagues
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple workstreams in a fast-paced environment
- Undergraduate degree required
