Head of Talent
New Capital Partners | Birmingham, AL | Full-time, 100% on-site
About New Capital Partners
New Capital Partners is a private equity firm focused on building great companies through true partnerships with management teams. We invest in founder-owned businesses and work alongside their leaders on strategic growth, operational improvement, and long-term value creation. Our culture is collaborative and results-driven, and we hold ourselves to a high standard of talent.
The Role
We are hiring a Head of Talent to lead recruiting for New Capital Partners and to help our portfolio companies build stronger teams of their own. Great companies are built by great people, and this role exists to make sure we hire A players, every time.
You will own recruiting for the firm, from sourcing to signed offer, including executive and investment professional searches. You will also lead culture surveys and talent improvement initiatives across our portfolio, teaching management teams how to recruit, evaluate, and hold people accountable.
This is a hands-on role for someone who is relentless about talent. If you take pride in finding candidates others can't and closing the ones everyone else wants, this is for you.
What You Will Do
- Own full-cycle recruiting for New Capital Partners, from sourcing to signed offer, with a focus on executive and leadership roles
- Partner with firm leadership to define role requirements, scorecards, and what an A player looks like for each search
- Proactively source passive candidates through LinkedIn Recruiter, networks, referrals, and direct outreach
- Run structured screening and interview processes, and maintain a high bar for every hire
- Manage candidate relationships and close top candidates, including offer strategy and negotiation support
- Build and maintain a talent pipeline and a network of future candidates for recurring and anticipated roles
- Manage the applicant tracking process and report on pipeline, time to fill, and quality of hire
- Coordinate with outside search firms when needed and hold them accountable
- Design, run, and act on culture surveys across portfolio companies
- Lead talent improvement initiatives within portfolio companies, including teaching management teams how to recruit, build scorecards, create accountability, and apply other human capital best practices
- Strengthen our employer brand, including how we show up on LinkedIn and with candidates
What You Bring
- 4 years of recruiting experience focused on executive level roles
- A track record of closing senior and hard-to-fill roles, with examples you can quantify
- Strong sourcing skills and comfort with cold outreach
- Sound judgment in assessing talent, and the confidence to push back on hiring managers when needed
- Experience coaching leaders on hiring practices, scorecards, and accountability, or the credibility to learn and teach them quickly
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with senior leaders and executives
- Ownership, urgency, and a high-accountability mindset
- Proficiency with LinkedIn Recruiter and an applicant tracking system
- Bachelor's degree required
- Ability to work full-time on-site in our Birmingham office
